Daniel Smith House, Burlington, NJ

UDB card PM 1910 showing the Old Smith Mansion built 1733, Burlington, NJ. Although some think that the date is 1703. A later card shows that date.

UDB = undivided back
DB = divide back
PM = postmark

Daniel Smith House, Burlington, NJ

Daniel Smith House, built by Daniel Smith early in the eighteenth century at the corner of Broad and High Streets, Burlington, NJ.
Old unused divided back postcard. Notice the Mechanics National Bank to the left. Its hard to see in this picture, but on the left gable end side of the building there is the initials of Daniel and his wife, Mary, DSM 1703. I have an earlier card of the same building showing 1733....wonder what changed? Some think it was changed during restoration.
