USS New Mexico Battleship

This is the first card I actually bought when I started to collect postcards. An RPPC (real photo post card). My grandfather was on this battleship in WWII, so it just kind of stuck in me to buy it. I then started to look around and discovered I liked some of the other postcards I saw. And so I was hooked!

Collecting Postcards
What is it about postcards that make people want to collect them?
For me its mostly the history surrounding the card, or the picture on the card. Sometimes I just like the colors. Sometimes its just nostalgia. Whatever the reason, millions of you out there do it.

Its hard to see in this picture, but on the left gable end side of the building there is the initials of Daniel and his wife, Mary, DSM 1703.
